As part of the “Bamboo for Paris” project, 10 students from EnsAD participated in a workshop on the valorisation of bamboo as a material of the future during the NYCDESIGN, NYC Design Week organized by WantedDesign. In the exceptional architectural and landscape setting of Industry City , the students worked on the realization of bamboo pieces in the idea of an implementation on an industrial scale.
Every May, WantedDesign presents for the Design Week, a unique program, bringing a group of students from international design schools together to participate in the Design School Workshop. Conceived as a collaborative activity rather than a competition, teams are composed of students from different schools and backgrounds. Aalto University (Finland), Appalachian University (USA), Art Center (USA), Centro (México), Ecole Boulle (France), Escuela de Communición Monica Herrerra (El Salvador), Pratt Institute (USA), Strate School of Design (France), Tongji University (China), Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (Poland)

Once again, I met industrialists and designers passionate about their work, exchanging their experience and sensibilities to bring out the best.
Iskander Guetta is a young industrial product designer interested in the ways in which design can improve the daily lives of socially vulnerable individuals. He proposes a set of basic standardised objects (Abri+) intervene in the narrow private space in order to enhance the possibilities and improve the quality of every individual’s daily life in the shelter.
Abrit+ consists of a curtain, hanging pockets, hooks and a portable lamp. All objects are designed to fit the bunk beds found in the underground fallout shelters of Switzerland, which have also been used temporarily host homeless people, migrants and asylum seekers.
I was very enjoyed to take a shooting with Iskander. He is very sensitive and humble. We immediately managed to understand each other. Maybe because we both bring happiness to others.
